I started writing to express the absurdities of working life, venting my vexation at, for example, being offered a giant bowl of plain pasta ‘as a treat’ while working as a bar manager at a London theatre. This led me down the long road of telling stories of my own, often working with adaptation and using my love of playful wit and cleverly plotted drama to create existential, contemporary and uplifting work for both young and adults audiences.

‘More than just a breathtaking example of pandemic problem solving, it has all the ingredients of a modern classic.’ London Theatre 1 on Up, Up, Up and Away! ★★★★★

My first success was with online family hit Up, Up, Up and Away!, created to give children space to dream and adventure while stuck at home during the Covid pandemic. Since then, I have won scores of four and five-star reviews for Hamstrung, a supernatural Shakespearean tragicomedy about Yorick, the dead court jester from Hamlet, as well as developed new work with Omnibus, Pleasance and the Marlowe Theatres.

A masterclass in balancing humour and pathos, and mining Shakespeare for fresh, contemporary insight’ Three Weeks on Hamstrung ★★★★

I have completed two writer programmes at Omnibus Theatre, where I have also workshopped multiple plays and been invited to collaborate on responsive new writing night Hot House. While mainly a theatre-maker, I have also trained with the BFI, BBC, LFS and John Yorke Foundation, written multiple TV pilots, poems and a novel.
